Part of my role as Group Operations Director of The Service Solutions Group is to ensure the viability and reputation of each of the brands under our umbrella.

Due to an increasing client base we have seen a steady increase in the volume of work we are handling and so the decision was made to franchise our home emergency business, Local Assist. We believed this would provide us with a more robust and reliable network and allow us to service pour clients more effectively.

We already had a good relationship with The Franchise Alliance as another of our brands, Concept Building Solutions, had become an accredited franchisor with them some years earlier.

We knew that this accreditation had supported our own stress testing of our financials, had assisted us to successfully access finance for fifteen new franchisees nationally and had increased the brands profile across the UK.

We had a need to market the Local Assist brand countrywide in order to target the sectors of tradespeople that we required in order to fulfil the needs of our clients – predominately plumbers, gas engineers and electricians. This was required to be undertaken in a relatively short space of time due to the increasing volumes of work we were expecting to handle.

After short consideration the decision was made to approach The Franchise Alliance to see if the previous results with Concept could be replicated for Local Assist.

Only three months in we are already featured in the launch of the new and improved TFA website, we have 4 new franchisees trading with another 6 having placed deposits and the TFA are even supporting a franchisee to purchase a territory upon his return to the UK - so the reach is international!

To say that we are impressed would be an understatement. The benefits that we enjoy far outweigh the cost of our involvement. The team at The Franchise Alliance respond to each enquiry swiftly and the response is both informed and courteous.

I would recommend accreditation with TFA to any franchisor serious about growing and sustaining their brand.
